Our National Nature Reserves

From our base at Widdybank Farm in Upper Teesdale, our team manages three different National Nature Reserves in the Northern Pennines.

Remote, dramatic and exhilarating - the landscape of the Pennines forms the backbone of England, and this reserve gives you the chance to see some of its most spectacular geological formations, waterfalls and panoramic views.

Located near the town of Consett, this site contains some of the finest ancient oak woodlands in north-east England as well as some unique semi natural grasslands.

Close to Hadrian's Wall in Northumberland, this reserve is a mire, or ‘peat-bog'. The main features of the site are the mire habitats and the unique surface patterning which can be seen all year and viewed safely from the western sandstone ridges.
